1. Acceptance of Terms
By enrolling in any RCT Academy course, you agree to these terms and conditions. If you do not agree, you cannot attend the course. These rules form part of the contract between you and the Academy.
2. Personal Hygiene & Dress Code
For practical sessions where body contact occurs:
- Maintain high personal hygiene at all times.
- Hair should be tied back, nails short and clean.
- Wear clean clothing and shoes.
- Minimal jewellery is recommended.
3. General Behaviour
- Smoking is not allowed anywhere on the premises.
- Tea, coffee, and herbal teas are provided, small fridge access available.
- Mobile phones should be on silent; video recording requires fellow student consent.
- Violence, intimidation, offensive language, or drugs of any kind are strictly prohibited.
- Respect privacy and behave responsibly at all times.
Practical Classes & Model Work:
- Students may work on each other during practical sessions.
- For examinations, students must bring models; models may be swapped.
- By enrolling, students consent to participate in practical exercises with others.
4. Breach of Rules
- Minor breaches → verbal warning (two warnings max).
- Continued breaches → written warning.
- Serious breaches → immediate expulsion (no refund).
- The Academy is not liable for any losses resulting from expulsions.
5. Course Materials & Intellectual Property
- Materials are updated and accurate to the best of our knowledge.
- Errors should be reported promptly.
- All materials are copyrighted or licensed. Copying or using them without permission is prohibited.
6. Payment, Refund & Cancellation Policy
6.1 Payment Terms
- All fees include VAT.
- Full payment is non-refundable (except during the statutory cooling-off period).
- Enrolment is confirmed once payment is received.
- Payment is via bank transfer or specified method on Thinkific.
6.2 Cooling-Off Period (14 days for in person training courses)
- You may cancel within 14 calendar days for a full refund if the course has not started and materials have not been accessed.
6.3 Refunds & Transfers
- Payments are non-refundable and non-transferable after the cooling-off period.
- Exceptions may be made for serious illness with a doctor’s certificate. At Trainers discretion.
6.4 Course Cancellation by the Academy
- Courses may be cancelled or rescheduled due to tutor illness, or unforeseen events.
- Students may choose a full refund or transfer to another date/course.
- The Academy is not liable for travel or accommodation costs.
6.5 Force Majeure
- The Academy is not liable for delays caused by circumstances beyond our control, including natural disasters, strikes, pandemics, or technical issues.
6.6 Limitation of Liability
- Maximum liability is limited to the course fees paid.
- No liability for indirect or consequential losses.
7. Certification & Outcomes
- Completion of a course does not guarantee employment, licensing, or professional recognition unless explicitly stated.
- Certificates are awarded only after successful completion of assessments, exams, and case studies.
8. Informed Consent Guidelines
- Consent is required before conducting treatments.
- Clients must have:
- Disclosure: all relevant information about the treatment
- Capacity: ability to understand and make decisions
- Document consent in forms or client records.
- Respect cultural differences in consent.
9. Professional Boundaries
Therapists must maintain clear boundaries in:
Physical: proper draping, touch, and personal space
Emotional: professional detachment, avoid personal relationships
Professional: follow ethical codes, session limits, refer out when needed
Social: separate personal and professional interactions, including social media
Financial: clear pricing, follow refund policies, avoid conflicts of interest
Communication: professional language, confidentiality, respectful listening
Time Management: punctuality, respect client and tutor time
Tips:
- Clearly communicate policies upfront
- Obtain signed informed consent
- Apply policies consistently
- Reinforce boundaries respectfully
- Seek mentorship or legal advice if needed
10. Liability & Insurance
- Except in cases of negligence causing death or personal injury, the Academy is not liable for indirect or consequential losses.
- Public liability insurance is maintained, certificates available on request.
- Attendance does not guarantee passing the course; students are responsible for meeting attendance/examination requirements.
11. Health & Safety Measures
- Anti-bacterial soap and surface wipes available
- Work surfaces sanitized daily
- Disposable gloves optional
- Mask use optional, respect others’ preferences
12. Complaints Procedure
- Email the Academy at [email protected]
- Acknowledgment within 3 working days
- Detailed response within 10 working days
- Meeting may be offered to discuss the complaint (in-person, phone, or online)
13. Learning Barriers & Disabilities
- Students must disclose learning barriers or disabilities at enrolment.
- Appropriate support will be provided during training.
14. Data Protection & Privacy
- Personal data collected will comply with GDPR 2016/679.
- Types of data: communication, customer, technical, marketing, sensitive data (health, religion, etc.)
- Data will not be sold; shared only with third parties for legitimate purposes.
- Students may opt out of marketing communications anytime.
- Security measures in place to prevent unauthorized access.
Appendix 1: Right to Cancel
- You may cancel within 14 days of enrolment. This is only for in person training if the training date is not before the 14 days.
- Notify the Academy via email: [email protected]
- Refunds processed within 14 days using the original payment method.
Appendix 2: Cancellation Form
(To be completed and returned by email if cancelling)
- Name, address, course name, signature, and date.
